Dear Editor:

Here are two more reasons not to store food in preparation
for an earthquake.

	1. In no recent earthquake, In the U.S. or abroad,
including the one in Coalinga
cited in the article, has lack of food been a problem. One can
only imagine circumstances in which it might be, but the authors
of the article don't bother.

	2. Even in the most earthquake prone regions, of which this
is one, it is a minor hazard compared to automobiles, fires,
drowning - even being struck by lightning. If you have any energy
to spend on safety, put it into the more significant hazards.

	3. Of course, the food might be of some use in case of war.
